Gazipur student abducted after refusing proposal, case filed against madrasa director and four others

A case has been filed against five people, including Ariful Islam, director and head teacher of two madrasas, over the alleged abduction of a Class Eight student in Sadar upazila of Gazipur. The student's father filed the case at Joydebpur police station on Sunday night.
The main accused is Ariful Islam (29). The other accused are his brother Sharif Mia (35), father Selim Mia (55), mother Rahima Khatun (40), and Delwar Hossain (45). According to the case statement, all of them are from Char Bowla village under Mymensingh Sadar police station.
According to the case statement, the student studied in Class Eight at a women's madrasa run by Ariful Islam. It is alleged that Ariful proposed a relationship to her and harassed her in various ways, and threatened to abduct her when she did not agree to the proposal.
After the family learned of the matter, the student's relatives asked Ariful to refrain from such conduct. The complaint says he became angry and began intimidating and threatening them.
The statement further says that on the morning of October 10, the student went missing after going to the madrasa. According to the allegation, Ariful abducted her with the help of the other accused. After searching in various places without finding his daughter, her father filed the case at the police station.
The student's father said his daughter went missing after leaving for the madrasa at around 7:30am as usual, and he later learned that Ariful had abducted her with the help of others.
Joydebpur police station Officer-in-Charge Al Mamun confirmed the case and said operations are under way to rescue the abducted student and arrest the accused.
