Security Guard's Body Recovered From Under-Construction Building in Bhatara, Police Suspect Murder
Police have recovered the body of a security guard, Alamgir Hossain, 52, from an under-construction building in the capital's Bhatara police station area. Police initially suspect that he was strangled to death.
The body was recovered at around 8pm on Thursday (October 22) from a tin-shed room inside the under-construction building. Alamgir worked as a security guard at that building and lived there.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Wadud of Bhatara Police Station confirmed the information. He said police went to the spot on Thursday night after receiving the news and recovered Alamgir's body from the tin-shed room.
After completing legal procedures, the body was sent on Friday morning (October 23) to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital for an autopsy. The exact cause of death will be confirmed once the autopsy report is available.
Police said clear finger marks were visible on the deceased's neck. He also had a wound below the knee of his right leg and injury marks beside his ear.
It is from these signs on the body that police have formed the initial view that assailants may have strangled him to death. However, this remains a preliminary assessment; the final conclusion will come after the autopsy.
The deceased, Alamgir Hossain, was the son of the late Kalim Uddin Pramanik of Sailkona village in Bagatipara upazila of Natore. For his work, he lived at the under-construction building in Bhatara in the capital.
Who killed him, and why, remains unanswered. As of the writing of this report, police had not announced any arrest in connection with the incident.
The death of a security guard who lived alone at an under-construction building naturally raises many questions. Police are expected to examine the scene and its surroundings to unravel the mystery behind the killing.
The real cause of this death and the identities of those behind it now depend on the autopsy report and the police investigation that follows. Any new information will be shared with readers as it emerges.
