Three-Year-Old Child and 25-Year-Old Man Die in Separate Incidents in Nilphamari Sadar
Nilphamari: Two people, including a child, have died in separate accidents in Nilphamari. The accidents happened on Sunday (October 25) in the morning in the Dhobadanga area of Sadar upazila and at around 8:30pm in the Textile area of Sadar upazila.
The dead are Rabbi (3), son of Jamis Uddin of the Dhobadanga area of Sadar upazila, and Emon Islam (25), son of Abul Kalam of the Sarkar Para area of Nilphamari town.
Police and local sources said Rabbi's mother was working after leaving the child beside the house in the morning. Unnoticed by everyone, the child fell into accumulated water from the household tubewell. After a search, he was recovered from the water and taken to Nilphamari General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
In the other incident, after evening Emon Islam was repairing an air conditioner at the house of a doctor named Swapan in the Textile area, while another mechanic there was repairing a geyser. When the geyser got no electrical connection, Emon was called; as he went to the geyser, he was electrocuted by an electric wire lying on the ground. Local people rescued him and took him to hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Sadar police station officer-in-charge Zillur Rahman said the bodies were handed over to the families after legal procedures.
