Head teacher Monoranjan Roy beaten to death in Dinajpur's Parbatipur, police say; one detained

A head teacher named Monoranjan Roy has allegedly been beaten to death over a family dispute in Parbatipur, Dinajpur. Police have detained one person in connection with the incident.

The incident took place on Sunday noon (25 October) at Naya Molla Para village of No. 1 Belaindi Union in Parbatipur upazila. The incident has created a sensation in the area, it was learned.

Monoranjan Roy was the head teacher of Chaksuda Government Primary School. He was a resident of Isbpur Union of Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur.

Abdul Wadud, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Model Police Station, said a fight broke out between two sides over a family dispute and the teacher died in it. After receiving a call on the national emergency number 999, police went to the spot and recovered the body.

The OC also said one person has been detained in the incident. Police are investigating to uncover the real cause of the killing.
