Chandpur's Three-Day District Ijtema Ends with Akheri Munajat on the Meghna Bank
The three-day Chandpur district Ijtema has ended with the Akheri Munajat, the concluding prayer. After the Hedayeti Bayan ended at 12 noon on Saturday, the munajat was conducted by Tabligh Jamaat Amir Maulana Shamsuddin. The formalities of the Ijtema concluded with that final prayer.
During the munajat, the Ijtema ground on the bank of the Meghna resounded with the 'Amin, Amin' of thousands of worshippers. Devotees who had come from far away joined the concluding prayer together.
The Ijtema had begun earlier, on Thursday 22 October after Fajr, with an Aam Bayan. The Ijtema ground was on the Meghna bank in the Puran Bazar Dokanghar area of Chandpur town.
Thousands of devout worshippers from Chandpur district and neighbouring areas took part in the three-day event. Many also came from outside the district to join the Ijtema.
At the Ijtema, senior alems delivered bayans in the light of the Quran and Hadith. Those bayans continued in sequence over the three days.
Alongside the bayans, there were arrangements for zikir-azkar and special talim. These were held as part of the Ijtema programme.
In the Akheri Munajat, prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the Muslim Ummah. That prayer was at the centre of the concluding supplication.
In Saturday afternoon's programme, the Hedayeti Bayan was held first. Only after that bayan ended was the Akheri Munajat conducted, bringing the three-day event to a close.
On the overall management of the Ijtema, Tabligh Jamaat Chandpur district Zimadar Md Arif Ullah said, 'All formalities were completed under the supervision of the main stream of Nizamuddin.' His remarks made the supervision aspect of the event clear.
Arif Ullah also said the Ijtema concluded successfully and peacefully through the Akheri Munajat amid the huge presence of devout people. He particularly noted the peaceful conclusion.
The presence of worshippers at the ground on the Meghna bank over the three days was striking. From start to finish, the ground was alive with bayans, talim and zikir-azkar.
After the Akheri Munajat, worshippers began leaving the ground. The three-day district Ijtema is over — any decision on the next event will be announced by the organisers.
