HSC and Equivalent Exam Results to Be Published on October 29, 1.27 Million Students Waiting
The results of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on October 29. The wait of 1,270,583 students across the country will end that day.
The information was given in a notice signed on Saturday night by Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board. The notice said it has been decided that the results of the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations will be published on October 29.
This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and ended on August 8. Practical examinations were supposed to be completed by August 15 after that.
However, due to natural disasters, several written examinations of the Chattogram Education Board could not be held on the scheduled dates. After the postponed examinations were later held, that board's written examinations ended on September 9. For this reason, the result-preparation schedule also moved somewhat behind compared with the other boards.
This year, 1,270,583 students from 9,439 educational institutions under the country's 11 education boards took part in the HSC and equivalent examinations. There were 2,697 examination centres across the country for them.
Among the general education boards, the highest number of candidates took part under the Dhaka Education Board. There were 300,393 candidates in this board, and they sat the examinations at 310 centres.
In the Rajshahi Education Board, 140,830 students took part, in Jashore 117,210, in Dinajpur 113,479, in Chattogram 99,688 and in Cumilla 94,802 students.
In addition, there were 73,037 candidates in the Mymensingh Education Board, 71,711 in Sylhet and 58,664 in Barishal.
Under the Madrasa Education Board, 92,905 candidates took the examinations at 461 centres, and under the Technical Education Board, 107,964 candidates took part at 610 centres.
Following this announcement of the result publication, everyone's attention is now on October 29. The day is extremely important for students and parents, because the next steps in higher education, including university admission, will depend on these results.
On the day of publication, the education boards prepare for students to be able to collect their results from their respective institutions and through the boards' designated channels. Online and mobile result services will also help everyone avoid crowds on the announcement day.
After a long time since the end of the examinations, the result publication date has finally been confirmed. Now the students have only one wait — October 29, the day their HSC examination results will be known.
