bKash Wins Two Honours at The Money Awards in Las Vegas: Gold and Silver

Staff Reporter • Reading time: 2 min

Bangladesh's mobile financial service has once again earned recognition on the international stage. bKash has received the international honour 'The Money Awards' in recognition of its contribution to bringing small merchants into financial inclusion and expanding the cashless transaction ecosystem.

The country's largest MFS provider won the honours in two categories at 'The Money Awards 2026', organised by the global event and networking platform Money20/20 in Las Vegas, United States.

bKash won the 'Gold Award' in the 'Payments – Financial Inclusion' category, in recognition of connecting small and marginal entrepreneurs from various levels of society to the institutional financial network through an easy-to-use digital payment system.

It also received the 'Silver Award' in the 'Diamond' category, recognising its work in building an integrated transaction framework between ordinary customers and merchants, popularising everyday digital transactions and advancing the national cashless vision.

The awards are decided through evaluation by an international jury panel comprising leading global fintech and technology experts. The Money Awards essentially evaluates innovations that reduce socio-economic gaps and accelerate the transformation of the digital economy.

Introduced in 2025, the awards previously honoured leading global institutions such as JP Morgan Payments, Ant Group and Mint. bKash of Bangladesh has now joined that list.

This year, a total of 28 initiatives from around the world were awarded across six categories: Early Stage Startup, Growth Stage Startup, Banking, Payments, Partnerships and Strategic Alliances, and Diamond.

bKash's achievement is also significant for Bangladesh's fintech sector. The work of bringing small merchants under institutional finance, advancing household by household through mobile phones, has now been recognised by international judges.

The popularisation of cashless transactions is not only about increased use of technology; it also preserves transaction records for small traders, making it easier for them to access institutional services. This idea of inclusion played the central role behind bKash's honour.

The two awards received on the Las Vegas stage are therefore not just one company's achievement — they are also international recognition of the progress of Bangladesh's digital economy.
